How can Chart Reports help me achieve better budgeting?

Chart Reports are a graphical representation of your daily revenues and expenses. Seeing a visual picture of how your personal finances are being handled will help you grasp the logic behind your spending habits and perceive mechanisms that will lead to financial improvement. It is not enough just to record every income or expense transaction, you should dig deeper into those figures and get a visual idea of how they can shape your future budget planning.

InEx Finance has developed various useful Chart Reports (line and pie charts) that will provide a rich user experience. The most frequently used Chart Reports can be accessed directly through the Reports tool in the top menu. If you want to see the full set of available Chart Reports, simply select All Reports from the Reports drop-down list.

What information is reflected in the End Day Balance Report?

The End Day Balance Report displays your current money balance. It gives you an idea of how much money you have left in your various Resources at the end of the day. If a Resource balance has dropped below zero, the Resource name will be marked with asterisk (*) in the chart legend. You can also click on Table View button to view additional details of your account balance.

What data is incorporated in the Income vs. Expense Report?

This bar chart displays your saving vs. spending by Resource. The Income vs. Expense Report lets you filter data by Resource and time periods. You may use a custom date range by selecting the start and end dates, or uncheck the Date filter box if you want to see the Income vs. Expense ratio for the entire period.

What does Resource Totals Report show?

The Resource Totals Report reflects your income and expense by Resource and percentage of total value for a given time-frame. You can use the Filter tools on top of the pie chart to customize the date ranges, select the Category and Report Currency. The system will return “No data” if you select a Category that was inactive during the reported period (no Transactions recorded into your InEx account).

What does Category Totals Report show?

This Report reflects your income and expense by Categories and percentage of total value. It helps you see in which Categories you spend or save most of your money so that you can further readjust your personal budgets or take care of the problem areas. Use the Filter tools on top of the chart to customize the reported date ranges, select type of operations (Income or Expense) and choose Resource. Categories not associated with any Transactions during the selected period are not reflected in the chart data and are not included in the chart legend.

When should I use Categories Dynamics Report?

When you want to track your spending or saving performance within Categories over a certain period of time, you can use the Categories Dynamics Report. This line chart defines the dynamics of your income or expense Transactions by Category during a given time-frame. You can use the Filter tools on top of the line chart to select a custom date range and type of operation (Income or Expense) you want to track.

You may hover over the data points in the chart to see the details of the Transactions included in the Report. If you need to scan certain data in the chart more closely, just select the area you want to zoom with your left mouse. When you are finished, click on Reset Zoom button in order to revert to the original chart size. The vertical axis of the line chart displays the amounts in your Default Currency. If you want to change it, just access the Language/Currency option in your account settings.

Why is Category Trends Report important?

If you want to construct viable personal money management models, you should first analyze your spending habits and try to perceive future tendencies. The Category Trends Report is an important forecasting tool that will help you promptly react to unnecessary expenses and redefine the future course of your finances. Use the Filter tools on top of the line chart to see trends for different time periods and Categories. If there are income and expense Transactions associated with the reported Category during a given time-frame, then the chart will display both trend lines colored according to the legend.

What does Goals Report show?

The Goals Report is a graphical representation of the progress you've already made towards reaching your goals. It gives you a quick understanding of where you currently stand with your savings plans and where you want to be by a certain date. The chart features basic information about your goal, such as: the amount you need, the amount you've already saved, the due date and progress made. If you hover over a specific goal, you'll see a pop-up Summary of your savings activity and some helpful advice on how to reach your goal in time.

What is the purpose of the Budgets Report?

The Budgets Report is probably one of the most important monitoring tools that will help you stick to your budget plans and avoid overspending. You can compare Actual vs. Planned amount of your Income or Expense in any given Category for the last six months and quickly react to any budget deviations. This report gives you a clear understanding of how efficiently you budget your family finances month-to-month. If you hover over the chart bars, you'll see the Actual and Planned budget amounts in your Default currency.

What does Transactions Map Report show?

Transactions Map Report gives you the possibility to track income/expense Transactions recorded in your account on the go using InEx Finance mobile version. The geolocation feature saves the coordinates of the location where you logged your Transaction in, which can be viewed in Google Maps via Transactions Map Report. You can filter your mobile Transactions by Resource, Category and date. The amounts displayed in Google Maps may have 4 different colors: green – for income transactions; red – for expense transactions; white – for transactions with zero income and expense; blue – for transactions with both income and expense. If you click on the amount itself, you can see a pop-up info window with detailed information about your Transaction.

What information is presented in the Tags Cloud Report?

You will better understand your spending habits by looking at this Report. You can see all the Tags you have used so far in order to make your daily Transactions more descriptive and easily recognizable. The more frequently you have labeled your Transactions with a specific Tag, the bigger the Tag Cloud will be.

What does Currency Rates Dynamics Report show?

If you operate with various Currencies while working with your InEx account, you may want to see how the daily currency fluctuations affect your personal finances. This chart shows the dynamics of currency exchange rates relative to the U.S. dollar. Use the Filter tools on top of the chart to select a custom date range. If you want to remove a certain dynamic line from the chart, just click on the corresponding Currency in the chart legend. A repeated click on the same Currency will re-display the Currency Rates Dynamics line.

You may hover over the data points in the chart to view specifics of the currency rates. If you need to scan certain data in the chart more closely, just select the area you want to zoom out with your left mouse. When you are finished, click on Reset Zoom button in order to revert to the original chart size. This Report shows the dynamics behavior of your Selected Currencies rates only. If you want to include other Currencies as well, just access the Language/Currency option in your account settings.
